STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY ASSESSMENT
To support evaluation of non-destructive testing results, INETEC-Institute for Nuclear Technology is able to perform structural integrity analysis based on Finite Element Method (FEM) and Fracture Mechanics (FM) to determine distribution of stresses, deformations and future propagation behavior of damage.
Applications
- Performance of comprehensive analytical calculations by application of FEM method (elastic and elasto-plastic analysis) and fracture mechanics principles (where applicable) for various types of degradation mechanisms, such as thinning, pitting, stress corrosion cracking, inter granular attack, wear, etc.
- Evaluation includes the simulation of various damage morphologies regarding:
o Single crack o Multiple cracks o Crack orientation
- Component behavior is analyzed under normal and accidental operating conditions in order to define the critical loading for certain damage morphology
