INSPECTION OF PIPING SYSTEMS
ISI Objectives • Ensure the continuing structural integrity of the piping system components • Maintain the level required by the original acceptance standards, throughout the life of the nuclear power plant (NPP) • Performance of ISI during every refueling outage of the NPP • Minimize radiation exposure to ISI personnel
ISI Preparation Activities • In accordance with applicable standards (ASME B & PV Code) • Administrate by specially created software (ISI data base, ISI reports from previous examinations and ISI plan for further examinations) • NDT methods and systems qualification (procedure, equipment and personnel) • Qualification of the Performance Demonstration Initiative’s (EPRI PDI) implementation of the ASME B & PV Code, Section XI, Appendix VIII
